Dr. Shahrouz Rezania graduated from Laval University and has been practicing Dentistry since 2001. After spending his first five years of practice in Ottawa, the love and passion for Montreal and the HABS brought him back to Montreal.

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO IMPROVE YOUR PATIENTS' DENTAL HEALTH?

My goal in this field is to educate my patients to prevent gum diseases and cavities. You could lose your teeth if you catch gum diseases. Once you lose your teeth, it will cost you a lot of money to replace them. If you don't get a denture, lots of consequences come along, including:

• Digestive problems;
• Speech problems;
• Avoiding certain foods because of chewing problems;
• Avoiding going out in public because of social embarrassment;
• Anxiety and self-consciousness;
• Stiff jaw and problems with relaxation;
• Weakening of other teeth because there are fewer teeth to use when you eat;
• Movement and inclination of other teeth and their possible loss and;
• Nutrition problems.
