The first meal of the day, often the most important and the most enjoyable, is known in Iran as “Sobhaneh”. It is usually composed of Iranian tea, cheese and bread. These should be accompanied by jam, butter, halva, honey and milk. But then again, you could eat them with eggs, fried or in omelettes.

No Persian table would be complete without “nan-o-panir” and “sabzi-khordan” which are quite simply bread and feta cheese with fresh herbs. These side dishes are called “mokhallafat”. According to your taste, you could choose one of the following sides.
